The last thing you want is to give up at the first hurdle. With hundreds of samples across multiple folders, its tough to test them with Apples quick-preview feature (space bar). The algorithms, design and implementation are described in some detail in my project report, which you can download, though it's a bit heavy going. Samplit sends the midi notes to the midi hardware, records all the individual sounds and create ready-to-play Sampler instruments with a few mouse clicks. SampleFinder lets you quickly gather music samples for your project. I originally developed KeyFinder in 2011 as part of my MSc in Computer Science. I don't claim that KeyFinder is better than other key estimation software, but it shows that the algorithm is in the same league as even the best paid alternatives.

In Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1, click the checkbox next to Simple Finder. In Mac OS 8.5 and later, click the General tab, then click the checkbox next to Simple Finder.
